TL;DR BUT YOU WANT TO PLAY
Make three sets of bets as such:
12 black third
36 green second
18 red first
0, 00, and green is available for any of the above bets, including third sections, just like they would be, if you were at the table.
ROADGAMBLER FINDS A WEIRD ONE!
When I travel the road, I always look out for strange or unusual games.
This Weekly Contest is California Card Roulette, a version of roulette that most people have not seen. Sometimes, it’s good to see something different, if just for the sake of curiosity.
In California, the Native American casinos are not allowed to use either dice or balls to determine the outcome of a bet. So for roulette, there is a wheel with cards in the wheel, and a needle tells the dealer which card to pull.
The odds, payouts, and game are exactly the same as regular double zero roulette. The only difference is that there is no ball.
WEEKLY CONTEST
The above video will be playable on Tuesday, July 23 at approximately 12 noon eastern, 11 central.
The video contains 8 spins of California card roulette. If you’re confused, just pretend that it’s regular roulette with a regular ball. It plays the same way. It’s just the execution that’s different.
Make 3 sets of bets for spins 1, 2, and 3.
Each set of bets must include the number, color, and which third section (1st third, 2nd third, or 3rd third). Just like in real life, all spots on the layout are available, including green or 0 and 00 for any of the bets above, including third sections.
Up for grabs is the weekly contest prize of a pair of red and white chips from a real Las Vegas casino. Cash them, collect them, do whatever! They’re genuine and live casino chips.
MAKE YOUR ENTRY
You entry should look like any version of the following, with the first set for spin 1, second set for spin 2, third set for spin 3.
(Note that in order to prevent influence, I randomly drew the sample bets below; bold print is not necessary)
12 black third
36 red second
18 red second
Remember that for any of the entries above, you may take green or 0 or 00, just like in real life, as if you were at the table.
Something like this will work too:
12 black third, 36 red second, 18 red second
Just be sure that I can tell which entry goes with which spin.
SCORING
Scoring will be as if you bet $1 per number, color, and third section, using standard double zero payouts.
Payout is…
Numbers:
35-1
Colors:
1-1 for color red or black
17-1 for green
Section:
2-1 for third section
17-1 for green
The highest score after spin 3 will win.
TIE BREAKER
Spins 4 through 8 are the tie breakers. Your entry set 1 will be recycled as the bets for spin 4 and 7. Entry set 2 will be used for spins 5 and 8. Entry set 3 will be used for spins 6.
If there are ties after spin 3, then the ties will proceed to spin 4 to determine a winner.
If after spin 4, there are still ties, then the tied entries will go to spin 5 to determine a winner.
If after spin 5, the entries are still tied, then we will go to spin 6, and so on, with determinative scoring taking place after each spin.
The final spin will be spin 8.
If there are still ties after spin 8, then RoadGambler will award the weekly prize to all remaining ties. Maximum of 10 winners.
Here is a clue for having read this far: there are no green results. Do not state this in the comment section unless you want to give away your advantage. This clue will stay open for the duration of the contest.
SIMILAR ENTRIES
In the event that one or more players have the exact same entry as another player, such as two entries with the following, the procedure described below will apply:
12 black third
36 red second
18 red second
The number will be increased by +1, and all the colors flipped (green will remain green), until the entry becomes a unique entry.
So if there are two of the above entries, the latter entry will become:
13, red, third
0, black, second
19, black, second
So if you do not want your entry changed, make sure your entry is unique.
GOOD LUCK!
Remember that if you have not posted a comment or entry, your entry will not appear immediately. We filter first comments for spam.

RoadGambler says:
Mark,
To be fair, I have to do some research to see which entry can be your actual entry. The first or second.
In the future, I’ll clarify which entry is the official entry. This one did not clarify, so I have to look back on past contests and see which rule was last implemented.
RoadGambler says:
Mark,
Upon further research, it appears that player were allowed to voluntarily change their entries prior to close.
For anyone interested, the last rule was stated in the June 12 – 25 contest, which stated: ‘If you make an entry and later find out that your entry is a disqualified entry, then you may make another entry’.
If there is not a rule, specific to the contest, that covers the issue, then the last rule is the standing rule.
So your official entry will be:
24 black, second
0 geen, first
17 black, second
