Other than the big football game, the NBA Finals are my favorite annual sports event.
I’m very sad and disappointed that Milwaukee didn’t make it to the finals. I thought it was a foregone conclusion. Oh, well, it’s not like I’m from Milwaukee or had anything to do with Milwaukee. Normally, I would say ‘there’s always next year’; however, I’m not so sure I’ll be a big Milwaukee fan next year.
Now I’m a huge Toronto fan!
Anything to beat these sickening Warriors, who have appeared five straight times in the finals. Apologies to any Golden State fans, but this is getting old!

THE WEEKLY CONTEST
For this week’s contest, the focus will be on the Sunday game at 7 pm central, 8 eastern.
You are to pick the first half score of each team, and the second half score of each team.
So your entry will look something like this:
Half GS 50, T 49
Second GS 48, T 51
If you pick something like GS 48, T51, GS49, T 60, then the first two scores will be the first half, and the last two scores will be the second half.
SCORING
For each of the four scores perfectly matched, you will receive 50 points. A perfect score is 200 points.
For each score, if your score is over the actual score, then you will receive -2 from the perfect score of 50. If your score is under the actual score, then you will receive -1 from the perfect score of 50.
The most points wins the Weekly Contest prize of real Las Vegas chips.
TIES AND SIMILAR ENTRIES
This is fine print to address ties and similar entries.
In the event that all four of your scores are exactly the same as another entry, then the latter entry (as determined by the time stamp) will have all of its numbers bumped up by +1. So if a latter entry is a copy of GS 50, T 50, GS 50, T 51, then the latter entry shall be automatically adjusted to 51, 51, 51, 52 respectively. In the event that the adjusted entry matches another entry, then the adjusted entry shall have +1 added again to all of its scores until at least one score is unique. This automatic adjustment will happen at the time of scoring for the Weekly Contest.
Therefore, if you want to maintain your original score, check the other entries to make sure you haven’t picked someone else’s scores.
Ties
More technical stuff…
In the event of a tie, I will assign +1 point to the entry that gave the higher point total to the actual winning team (meaning the entry picked the actual winning team).
In the event there is still a tie, then I will assign +1 point to the entry that picked the higher halftime score to the team with the actual higher score (meaning the entry correctly picked which team that was ahead at halftime).
In the event there is still a tie, I will assign +1 point to the entry that assigned the higher second-half score to the team with the actual higher score in the second half.
In the event that there is still a tie, I will combine all four points of the actual final score and then combine all four points of the tied entries. The entry that is closest to the actual final score will win the Weekly Contest. In the event that there is still a tie, then I will flip a coin.
RoadGambler reserves the right to be the final judge in the event of a dispute.
For purposes of scoring, the actual final score will be used.
